Wednesdays / 5:30 - 6:45pm / space reserved for 10 dancers

What IS Fly Fusion®? Fly Fusion is a super fun belly dance format with an emphasis on group improvisation, created in Mankato, Minnesota by Violet Kind. Dancers in this class will learn a series of short choreography combos, engaging that mind-body connection that is proven to give longer lasting benefits than exercising alone; not to mention the silly shenanigans that we’ll get up to every week!

The style features a heavy emphasis on musicality, community, body positivity, and is influenced by various forms of fusion belly dance, but also includes creative influences!

There are four phases we will go through while creating our dance together: Foundation, Metamorphosis, Expansion, and Pillars. With each phase comes new combinations and more complex layers, so attending regularly is encouraged, but not required. No previous dance experience is necessary either…just a willingness to move your body in a safe, judgment free environment!

PRICING: $17 single class drop in 10/9 & 10/16 first class is free for new students…just show up!

FAQs:

So I really don’t need any dance experience?

Nope! This is a class for all levels, ages, and genders of dancers. While the emphasis of this class is on learning the combos, I will have a brief review of the movements used in the combo, and you can add as many or as few of the layers as you are ready for. All you really need is a willingness to have a growth mindset and go just a little bit outside of your comfort zone. My class is a very supportive community, where the emphasis is on having fun and providing modifications as needed for each dancer’s individual needs.

What should I wear?

Feel free to wear what you feel comfortable in for a regular fitness class. It is absolutely not required to show your belly! For footwear: barefoot, dance shoes, or clean sneakers are great options! All I ask is that you minimize coin belts that make noise to reduce the level of noise in class while I’m teaching, and to help keep class accessible for those who get overstimulated (myself included).

Okay, but I’m having a hard time visualizing what a group of dancers doing Fly Fusion actually looks like. Have any examples?

Here are some of my favorite performances of Violet’s troupe! They are so good!

How do I know I’m learning Fly Fusion as it was intended to be done?

I’m actually certified by Violet Kind to teach it! I am certified to teach Foundation, Metamorphosis, and Expansion (Phases 1, 2, 3), which is the highest certification possible!

What is Nindari Dance?

The name of my Dance Studio! When I decided to start teaching dance classes, I wanted a studio name that was fitting. Nindari is the Quenya (one of Tolkien’s Elvish languages) word for Water Nymph, which seemed like the perfect fit to me! Belly dance can be such a flowy, sinuous dance, and Fly Fusion combos and dancers should all flow together to create a wonderful group experience. Also, in case you couldn’t tell, I’m a giant nerd, and it makes me happy!
