Eroding Attachments is a group of dance works by Amya Brice and Max Laszewski, with a cast made-up of movement artists from the greater Rochester area.

This performance art piece is an exploration of formed habits in the pursuit to find comfort and support. The show creates a landscape for a myriad of interpretations and perspectives into the life of a habit. Through improvisational scores, Eroding Attachments explores how bodies develop repetitive actions, and what humans do to break and lean into them. The dance performance will include multimedia exploration alongside improvisational scores and set choreography.

Choreographed by duo Amya and Max; the show has a melding of two different artistic backgrounds bringing a sense of choreographic breadth that pushes the boundaries of post modern, contemporary dance.

Meet the Artists:

Amya and Max are queer movement artists based in Rochester NY. They are creative partners in search of a vibrant creative arts community. Amya and Max are motivated to build this community through accessibility and authenticity. Both artists have a strong individual practice that is true to them. This partnership only enhances the unique perspectives of their individual politicized bodies. Their creative endeavors begin with questioning and analyzing the current dynamics of society and their environment. Amya and Max make dance that comes from an attempt to understand and form a community to honor both the individual and the group.

Tickets: sliding scale $5 / $10 / $15 - seating is limited to 20 guests
