Autumn Art Studio Sessions

Autumn Art Studio Sessions

from $50.00

Join artists Pauline Wegman and William Rivera-Bloodworth for a four-session painting workshop series this fall. Every week, you’ll create a new seasonal painting while learning core painting skills in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Sign up for a single session, or enjoy the full series!

CLASSES: Classes will be on Wednesdays from 6-8 pm from October 29 through November 19.

Session 1: Pumpkin Still Life ( 10/29 )

We’ll start off with a classic autumn pumpkin on a simple background. You will learn (or review) basic brushwork, color mixing, and value.

Session 2: Apple Still Life ( 11/5 )

We’ll continue with another seasonal favorite. This session will focus on building form step by step, with special attention to light, reflection, and contrast. You’ll practice creating depth and shine that make your subject feel three-dimensional.

Session 3: Fall Landscape ( 11/12 )

In this session, we’ll explore composition and perspective while layering colors to create depth. This class will help you capture the feeling of space and atmosphere in your painting.

Session 4: Refinement & Finishing Touches ( 11/19 ) Full Series Only

This final session is devoted to detail and refinement. Students are encouraged to bring any or all of the paintings from the first three classes to enhance and complete. Together, we’ll focus on adding subtle highlights and thoughtful textures—the small adjustments that bring a painting from “almost done” to polished and complete.

FLEXIBLE REGISTRATION: You can join Sessions 1–3 individually or drop in for whichever classes fit your schedule. Session 4, focused on refinement and finishing touches, is available only to those enrolled in the full series, giving returning students the chance to enhance and complete the paintings they’ve started.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME: This painting workshop series is beginner-friendly and open to painters of any experience level who would like to bring more creativity into their fall schedule. Whether you’re picking up a brush for the first time or looking to grow your technique, you’ll leave each week with refined skills and a painting you can be proud of.

WHAT MAKES THIS WORKSHOP DIFFERENT? With not one but two working artists as your guides—one with a representational focus and the other with a more abstract style—you’ll receive personal support no matter how you like to paint. While we all use the same fall-inspired references, the emphasis is on developing your own style and voice, so you’ll leave each class with a painting that feels uniquely yours. Each session balances structure and creativity, offering practical techniques, thoughtful feedback, and an approachable, fun environment that helps you grow as an artist.

WHAT’S INCLUDED AND WHAT TO BRING: We offer two pricing options: bring your own supplies or use ours.

Provided for all students during class:

  • Easel

  • Water and cups

  • Paper towels

  • Paper plates for palettes

If using our materials:

  • Acrylic paints

  • A variety of paintbrushes

  • One canvas per project (yours to take home!)

If bringing your our materials:

  • Acrylic paints* (minimum recommended colors: white, red, yellow, blue, fluorescent pink or orange)

  • Paintbrushes (brights and flats recommended, sizes 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 30, 40)

  • One canvas per class (stretched or canvas board, 8x10” or similar)

*Why acrylics? They dry quickly, making it easy to follow step-by-step together. Other mediums, like oils (slow drying) or pastels (require fixative, not possible in our space), can be trickier to manage here. You’re welcome to experiment, but working mainly with acrylics will help you stay in sync with the lessons.

BYO Materials: $50 drop-in / $180 full series (save $20)
