As coaches, healers, facilitators, teachers, and space-holders, we're constantly working with people.
When we're working with people, we're working with trauma survivors - and sometimes, we ourselves are the survivors.
Approaching our professional relationships from a trauma-informed perspective can help create a safer space for those we serve and collaborate with, as well as ourselves. Often, this involves making simple adjustments in the language we use and the way we engage with others.
By attending Let's Talk Trauma, you will learn the following:
A practice for centering joy in navigating trauma
Basic overview of "What is trauma?"
Information about our own trauma/wounds that may have led us into healing work
Ways to use inclusive language
Ways to reference trauma tactfully
An overview of the principles of trauma-informed care (aka a codification of basic human kindness)
Some best practices for responding when someone discloses trauma
