Meet Kathy Shrestha:
Originally from Avon, New York, Kathy graduated from Brockport in 1968. She began her career teaching Physical Education in Fairport, New York, while residing in the Park Avenue area (Rowley Street and North Goodman) for four years. In the summer of 1969, she embarked on an adventurous journey through Europe in a Land Rover, followed by extensive travels across the United States and Canada in 1970.
Kathy had the unique opportunity to teach at The Frankfurt International School in Frankfurt, Germany, for three years, during which she traveled extensively throughout Europe. In 1975, she participated in an overland expedition with Encounter Overland, journeying from London to Kathmandu over ten weeks.
In 1976, Kathy married Shyam Shrestha in a Hindu temple; Shyam was employed by Air France in Kathmandu. She taught at Lincoln School, an American institution established by Americans in 1954, dedicating twelve years to Grade 4 and 28 years to teaching Physical Education and Music for grades K-5.
