Elizabeth Rodbell: Ballet Instructor

I asked my Mom to sign me up for ballet lessons when I was four years old and I haven't stopped dancing since. I'm originally from Sandy Hook, Connecticut where my parents still reside. As a child I spent countless hours training in classical ballet, attending many different schools across the country. Some of these schools include The Draper Center for Dance Education here in Rochester, The Harid Conservatory in Boca Raton Florida, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, State Street Ballet in Santa Barbara California, and The Chatuaqua  Institution in New York.

After high school I was accepted into Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music where I received a B.S. in ballet with an outside field of study in Political Science. I began teaching an elective ballet class at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music as a requirement for my degree and I have continued teaching ballet to this day. I graduated in three years from IU and in 2010 took an apprenticeship with the Rochester City Ballet. I was promoted to full company dancer in 2013 and I continue to dance professionally. I  still teach ballet and stretch and strength when I'm not dancing, and I have almost completed my certification in Pilates!

Aside from dancing in Rochester I have spent time dancing in NYC and  Berlin, Germany. I love travel, music, fashion and believe that everyone can dance!
