Summer Gong Sound Bath - 7/30

12.00

Sunday, July 30th ( 7:15pm - 8:15pm ) Cost: $12pp / space limited to 20 guests

"Summertime, and the livin' is easy" ... thats how it should be! Join this gong sound bath and let the timeless vibration of the gong take you on your personal inner journey where you will experience deep relaxation and ease, as well as a sense of connecting with your true Self and the rhythms of nature. A gong bath is a form of sound therapy where the gong is played in a therapeutic way to bring about balance. The term "gong bath" means that you are bathed in sound waves while laying on the floor, covered with a blanket. It is very relaxing and calming, appropriate for everybody who is craving some deep rest and a break from the ever-racing mind. The gong works on all levels to "heal" and transform.

On a physical level, the gong releases tension and blocks in the body, it stimulates a higher functioning of the glandular and nervous system, it increases prana (our vital life force) and improves circulation. The gong works deeply on the mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. It purifies and quietens the mind; it literally cuts through it and clears the clutter from the subconscious mind to reveal our radiant and authentic self. It has the capacity to bring us to a neutral state of being that is wise and non-judgmental. Stilling the mind brings about a sense of balance and harmony, and from there deep self-healing* can occur.

WHAT TO BRING? In this class we lie on the floor in Shavasana the whole time, so you want to make yourself as comfortable as possible! We need a yoga mat (or something similar), a pillow, a blanket. All props are provided at the studio, but since this class tends to fill up, please BRING YOUR OWN blanket and pillow. A bottle of water is recommended and sold for $1 at the studio.

PLEASE NOTE:
A Gong Bath is not recommended for pregnant women (due to unstable nature of any pregnancy), nor for people with sensitivity to sound or conditions such as Tinnitus, Menieres and Epilepsy, or people with metal Implants, pins and screws. The rhythm of a pacemaker may also be affected by sound and is therefore NOT recommended for a gong bath. Gong Baths should never be used instead of medical treatment and one should never discontinue medical treatments or medicines without permission from their doctor.
