Hi, my name is Lisa and I am a recent graduate of Breathe's 200 hour teacher training program. I found yoga two years ago in February 2015 when a friend invited me to take a class with her at Breathe. It took only a few weeks and one eleven class pass for yoga to find me. I was hooked. My passion for this practice has deepened ever since and I find myself constantly wanting to do more and to know more. Practicing yoga daily, on and off the mat, has become a way of life for me. My yoga practice has created a profound shift in my vision of how I view myself, others, and the world I live in. It came to me at a time when I needed it most and provided me with an outlet to relieve my mind and body of any stress, negativity, or sadness I encountered daily and a way to sort of "reset" myself. Through the combination of yoga asanas and self inquiry, I have learned the importance of mindfulness and being present wherever you are in order to get the most out of an experience and simply to maintain the health of your body and mind.
Most importantly, yoga introduced me to a community of endless love and support and a place I feel most at home. For that, I am forever grateful for this practice. I believe I was called to teach it to others and share my experiences and love of yoga so that I might inspire people to seek out the best version of themselves through their own yoga practice. What I love about power vinyasa yoga is that it is accessible to everyone - every age, every body type, any limitations, etc - through modifications and by listening to what your body needs and giving it just that.
I am so excited to begin my teaching career at Nu Movement and I look forward to seeing some new and familiar faces on the mat! Namaste :)
